The first step to solving any problem at all is admitting that it exists. However, when it comes to the lack of self-confidence, many people do not know that they suffer from it. Here are some behaviors that can help you to know if you lack it too:
1. Indecision Being indecisive is one of the traits associated with low confidence. People who have it find themselves taking too long to make a choice. You'd often hear them say things like: anyone works for me, I'll go with whichever one you choose, and similar phrases. Unknown to them, they're simply afraid of choosing because they subconsciously believe that regardless of what they choose, the universe will mess it up.
2. Doing things or buying gifts excessively for other people To get people's attention, people of low self-confidence go out of their way to do things that they might not be comfortable with, such as getting extravagant gifts or being used just to get approval or be noticed. Most times, they are usually never appreciated for their efforts.
3. They create no boundaries Because most people who lack confidence thrive on validation and reassurance from others, they create no boundaries and let people get away with just about anything. They do this for fear of pushing people away.
4. Always feels guilty for doing or saying something
In their attitude of not wanting to hurt anyone, they tend to apologize for doing even the slightest things. You may find them apologizing for asking for a favor, saying their mind, not saying anything at all, or even doing something they had no control over.
If you find yourself displaying these traits, it may be time to take learning how to improve self-confidence a little more seriously. You may also need to learn how to
reduce stress and anxiety because it can all be overwhelming at first. But you can do it!
